Management on the DODI Ocean Endeavor semi-submersible rig has awarded Geo Therm Ltd offshore inspection services with its annual thermographic IRT survey as part of its comprehesive operational GEMS programme.

It is five years ago since Geo Therm Ltd last surveyed the Ocean Endeavor, off Constanta in the Black Sea. The rig has since relocated and currently drilling in the UKCS for the energy super major Shell in the Fram field, some 136 miles east of Aberdeen.  The offshore survey is to begin in the first week of November.

The Ocean Endeavor is a 5th generation rig. It has an ABS A1 column stabilised drilling MODU Classification, and originally built in Fremantle Australia to the Odeco Victory class design.  It is capable of operating in water depths of 10,000ft and can drill to depths of 35,000ft. (TD)
