Geo Therm Ltd is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract by Biffa to conduct a specialized survey at their premier West Sussex waste management and recycling facility in Horsham.

As one of the largest and most advanced facilities of its kind in the UK and Europe, the Horsham site utilizes Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) to process up to 312,000 tonnes of waste per year.

This state-of-the-art operation significantly reduces landfill reliance by up to 80% by transforming waste into two sustainable energy streams such as:

Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF): Produced via the MBT plant.
Electricity:

Methane generated from the AD process powers on-site Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engines, producing up to 4.2 MW of electricity.

Geo Therm Ltd will provide crucial electrical thermographic inspection services following a recent equipment upgrades to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of this vital infrastructure. With the survey visit penned for mid May 2026.
