We are delighted that management on board the Valaris 120 jack-up rig has confirmed Geo Therm Ltd are to conduct its annual Thermographic Survey PM during the second quarter of 2023. The Valaris 120 is an ultra-premium harsh environment rig, upon entering service in 2013 it has principally worked in the North Sea.
Valaris is the largest offshore drilling and well drilling company in the world, and owns 56 rigs, including 40 offshore jack-up rigs, 11 drill-ships, and 5 semi-submersible platform drilling rigs.
The Thermographic survey will be performed when the Ju120 rig is working for Harbour Energy (the UK’s largest independent oil and gas business) in the Jasmine Field of the North Sea.
The survey is expected to take one week to complete, using a FLIR thermal imaging to identify high resistance electrical issues and engine exhaust hot-spots, to mitigate against electrical fires and potential hot ignition surfaces in engine rooms.
