Geo Therm Ltd are delighted to confirm the North Sea inspection works on the Valaris Ju120 jack-up rig. Rig management confirming its go-ahead in late March for mobilisation in mid-April.

The Geo Therm Ltd scope of works will comply with the rigs annual electrical PM, using infrared thermography to locate high-resistance components before extremes of heat causes electrical fires and downtime. Included with the survey will be the scanning of the engine exhaust systems to ensure exhaust surfaces are fully insulated and not exposing surface temperatures exceeding 220C, a SOLAS requirement.

The Valaris Ju-120 rig (IMO #9621479) is currently working off Aberdeen for Harbour Energy. This three-legged jack-up rig, built for harsh all-weather conditions, has the ability to drill down to 40,000ft at a maximum working depth of 400ft and can accommodate 150 POB.
