Geo Therm Ltd finally returns to Angola on our last offshore inspection of 2023, with the team boarding the mighty Sonangol Libongos drillship (IMO: 9730543).
Built by DSME in Korea and delivered in 2019. It is a 7th generation e-SMART ultra-deepwater drillship capable of operating in ultra-deep waters. The Libongos has an ABS Classification and is a 50:50 joint venture between Seadrill and its affiliate Sonangol E.P the Angolan state-owned oil company.
Geo Therm Ltd has been contracted to perform an exception based thermographic survey, to locate thermal deficiencies deviating from the norm, to support the Libongos electrical PM regime.
