Geo Therm Ltd are delighted to confirm management aboard the Well-Safe Protector rig – a heavy-duty, harsh-environment jack-up rig specifically adapted for well decommissioning and plug and abandonment (P&A) operations are preparing for one of our thermographic surveyors to complete its annual thermographic survey PM in early June 2026.
The Geo Therm Ltd thermographic surveys use thermal cameras for critical, non-invasive condition monitoring on energised equipment to ensure asset integrity and satisfy offshore PM and insurance compliance. By thermally scanning core switchboards and rig-wide electrical distribution networks, the infrared inspection detects overheating connections, unbalanced loads, and failing fuses before they trigger costly blackouts or fires. Furthermore, scanning the main engine exhaust systems will map exposed surfaces exceeding 220°C. Remedying these hot spots prevents fuel oil leaks from accidentally igniting during high-temperature engine ops.
Well-Safe Solutions is headquartered in Aberdeen and operates the WS Protector rig alongside two semi-submersible vessels: the Well-Safe Guardian and Well-Safe Defender.
