We are delighted to confirm Dolphin Drilling Ltd (a Fred. Olsen Energy ASA company) management have awarded Geo Therm Ltd with the contract to provide condition based monitoring services using our renown offshore thermographic imaging services on rig wide electrical distribution equipment and engine room exhaust temperature monitoring on the Blackford Dolphin semi-submersible rig.

The Blackford Dolphin is a 5th generation Aker H-3 propulsion assisted MODU with an IMO number: 8753122 and DNV Classification. The rig was built by Nylands Mek Verksted in Oslo, Norway, since delivery it has undergone major drilling and accommodation enhancements, and capable of drilling to depths of 30,000ft at a water depth of 7,000ft and support 130 POB.

Dolphin Drilling has a combined fleet of 10 vessels, comprised of drillships and semi-submersibles, meeting mid to deep water drilling needs. Currently the Blackford Dolphin is working for Chevron in the Captain’s field, on one of Chrevon’s major capital projects in the UKCS. Dolphin Drilling is one of Geo Therm Ltd’s longest serving clients. The survey start mid September. (TD)
