Geo Therm Ltd is pleased to announce that management aboard the Valaris 72 has awarded the company its annual Thermographic survey preventative maintenance (PM) contract.
The jack-up offshore drilling rig is currently operating at the Douglas / Hamilton Platform complex within the UK sector of the Irish Sea. Designed by Hitachi and built in 1981, the Liberian-flagged vessel (formerly known as the Ensco 72) accommodates a crew of up to 90 members.
Scheduled to begin in late September with mobilisation from Blackpool, the upcoming thermographic survey is a core component of the rig’s electrical safety remit. The Geo Therm Ltd technician will utilise an advanced FLIR thermal imaging camera to identify potential electrical faults early, preventing costly downtime incidents and ensuring operational safety.
