Building on our 10 year success as a vendor for Diamond Offshore Drilling (UK) Ltd, the management on the semi-submersible Ocean Patriot has awarded Geo Therm Ltd with its third successive IRT Thermographic Survey since the rigs arrival in the UKCS.
The Ocean Patriot rig is an ABS Classification, A1 Column Stabilized MODU. Having undergone recent improvement works this Trosvik Bingo 3000 rig design is capable of drilling down to an impressive depth of 20,000ft in water depths up to 3,000ft. The rig is currently working for Shell in the North Sea.
Geo Therm Ltd offshore thermal imaging inspections are coordinated with the rigs annual maintenance need, in compliance to its comprehensive GEMS document. The IRT inspection is designed to locate, measure and notify maintenance technicians to extreme temperatures, indicative of potential electrical breakdown and outage. The survey is planned to begin in March. (TD)
