We are delighted to confirm Seadrill’s management on the West Gemini drillship have given the go ahead for Geo Therm Ltd to perform two condition monitoring inspections on its electrical systems at its current location offshore Luanda, Angola. The West Gemini, (IMO number: 9459931) has worked in West Africa since it was delivered from the Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea in June 2010. The ultra-deepwater drillship is currently working for the Italian oil and gas giant ENI, in Block 17 north-west of Luanda. Geo Therm Ltd are to undertake the West Gemini’s annual Thermographic and HVPD surveys in early July, utilized to look and listen for anomalous thermal and high frequency noise levels beyond those of the human sensing range, to identify equipment and components needing PM attention.
