Thermal Imaging

We are delighted to inform our social media followers on the inspection work awarded by Diamond Offshore Drilling (UK) Ltd – (DODI) for the annual electrical thermographic (IRT) survey contract on the Ocean Guardian semi-submersible rig.

The scope of works is to be performed in late August, when the rig begins new drilling work for Azinor Catalyst in the North Sea.

The thermographic survey is undertaken to comply with DODI’s comprehensive Global Excellence Management System (GEMS), a set of procedures to monitor, control and continuously improve performance.

The Ocean Guardian is a mid-water rig, able to drill to a max depth of 25,000, built to the Earl & Wright Sedco 713 design, at Clyde Shipyard, UK.  The rig has an IMO number: 8025989.
