Ex Inspections

Geo Therm Ltd are delighted to confirm another jack-up rig EX inspection is to go ahead in mid March. The Ensco 72 drilling rig is currently enroute to the Able UK Ltd quayside at Hartlepool, after working for ENGIE off the Dutch coast, the rig is expected to be in Hartlepool for approximately 3 weeks for additonal improvement works before its next contract begining early April.  The 20% EX detailed inspection is an annual requirement, typically undertaken by an independent, impartial third-party inspection company to comply with its extensive electrical preventative maintenance manual.

The Ensco 72 jack-up rig is a Hitachi K1025N self-elevating cantilever design rig, with an ABS Classification and IMO #8750338.  Built in 1981 the rig has had several up-grade improvements since delivery, and worked extensively through-out the North Sea. It is capable to work in water depths up to 225ft and drill to depths of 25,000ft.  Needless to mention Geo Therm Ltd are delighted to support Ensco with this EX service provision.
