Geo Therm Ltd are delighted to confirm the installation of vital infrared windows onto HV switchgear will go ahead on the Orion drillship currently at berth at in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, alongside the Reina Sophia quay. The workscope is part of its reactivation, for working offshore Brazil.

The installation is penned for November, with the installation of 90x Fluke CV3000 IR windows onto its HV forward Thruster switchboards and 3 main switchboards. Two Geo Therm Ltd engineers will perform the workscope, with installation penned to take 5 days to complete.

The Orion drillship is a 6th generation ultra-deepwater dynamic positioning drill ship. Built in Korea by Samsung heavy industries in 2011 to the Enhanced Samsung 10,000 design, it has an IMO number: 9516870 and an DNV Classification.
